During an emergency or disaster is not an appropriate time to worry about having adequate water, batteries or food. While it is not advisable to maintain a supply of perishable items, there are many items that we can have on hand to be prepared in the event of an emergency.

Any large plastic container (such as the rubbermaid or similar boxes with lids available at any department store) is an excellent way to store our emergency survival kits.

The diverse and rich habitat of rural Norfolk provides a great opportunity for those wishing to enjoy the outdoors and to participate in various hunting seasons throughout the year.

Starting in the 2020 season, Long Point Area Fish and Game Club will be administering hunting in the county.

Be Prepared – Plan for Emergencies

In your day-to-day living, disasters may seem a distant possibility. Yet natural disasters such as floods or tornadoes, technological or environmental accidents such as chemical spills, or service disruptions such as power failures during the winter can strike any community, including yours, at any time.

Expect the unexpected and plan for it. Knowing what to do when a disaster strikes will help you better control the situation and be in a better position to recover more quickly. 

Norfolk County oversees and manages 21 active cemeteries and 26 abandoned cemeteries (active cemeteries are indicated in bold print).

In Norfolk County, there are a total of one hundred and eleven documented burial sites/cemeteries.
