Temporary Outdoor Patios

1. A completed Temporary Patio Application
2.  Diagram of the proposed location and layout of the patio (including dimensions)
3. A completed site plan waiver form
4. A fee of $239.00. Please note: seasonal land rental rates may apply as outlined in the County’s User Fee By-law
5. Certificate of Insurance- A COI (Certificate of Insurance) with proof of at least $2 Million (per occurrence) Commercial General Liability, Cross Liability, An endorsement certifying that The Corporation of Norfolk County is added as additional insured on the policy with 30 days written notice of cancellation.
6. Proof of a liquor license (if relevant)
7. To qualify for a Temporary Patio Permit a business must have a valid Business Licence issued by Norfolk County. If you are a “NEW” Food Premise operating in Norfolk County you must submit the following documents for approval.
   • A completed Business Licence application (see forms section)
   • The required fee as set out in the user fee By-law
   • Health Approval from the Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit (inspection)
   • Zoning Approval – permitted use
   • Fire Approval (inspection)

   If you are an EXISTING Food Premise Business you must submit the following documents for approval.

   • A completed Business Licence application
   • The required fee as set out in the user fee By-law

Please ensure all patio drawings are accurate and details of the nature of fencing are included. Also, ensure that a routinely monitored phone number is provided to ensure County staff can contact you and delays can be avoided.
