The Canadian Mental Health Association, Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk Branch (CMHA) has partnered with the Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation, Norfolk County, and Norfolk General Hospital/Holmes House to provide an alternative location for the Addiction Supportive Housing (ASH) program in Simcoe.

This strategic alliance fosters an environment of consistent and effective supportive programming to participants within safe, stable, and affordable housing.

The Addictions Supportive Housing (ASH) program provides counselling, education, employment skills, and homelessness prevention. This program has been extremely successful in supporting community members through their journey, leading to job security, and a wealth of program graduates giving back to the community.

Funding through the Ontario Health Housing Division and Ontario Health West, with support from CMHA, will sustain the program moving forward, and the Haldimand Norfolk Housing Corporation will own and manage the property.

A report was presented to Norfolk County Council to approve the project in late 2023, and a public meeting about the proposed zoning amendment for the site will occur on March 5, 2024. The project is scheduled to be completed in fall 2024.
