The members of the Simcoe Seniors Centre will have a new home when they’re able to return to in-person activities.

Norfolk County has worked with the Seniors Centre leadership to move furniture and supplies to the group’s new home at the Simcoe Recreation Centre, from their former location on Pond Street.

“On behalf of the Simcoe Seniors Centre, I’d like to say how excited I am about the relocation to the Simcoe Recreation Centre. We are working very hard to make this transition, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic,” said Rob Clouston, president of the Simcoe Seniors Centre. “A schedule has been developed that will enable us to include all our activities at the new centre. We look forward to being able to continue to provide great programs to the senior community in our new location. Keeping our members safe is the number one priority of our board.”

The Simcoe Seniors Centre provides a variety of programs to ensure that the 50+ community of Norfolk County have comradeship and activities that enhance their lifestyle and promote healthy living. These programs and activities include fitness walks, chair exercising, euchre, bingo, bridge, stained glass, and Tai-Chi.

The group has a $40/year membership fee and has 550 members as of 2020.
