Lions Park in Simcoe will shine brighter than ever after three scoreboards were recently replaced, thanks to the joint efforts of the Simcoe Lions and Norfolk County.

The Simcoe Lions contributed over half the cost of the new scoreboards, which will greatly enhance the experience for athletes and spectators.

Lions Park was built in 1993 in partnership with the Simcoe Lions and the former Town of Simcoe. It is a space that fosters community engagement and active living. Thirty years later, the relationship between Norfolk County and The Simcoe Lions continues to benefit the community.

The installation of the new scoreboards in the fall of 2023 signifies a commitment to modernizing recreational facilities within the park.

Mayor Amy Martin

“Lions Park holds a special place in the hearts of many Norfolk residents. It serves as a central location for recreational activities that bring people together. The dedication shown by the Simcoe Lions Club helps Norfolk improve the park’s amenities and highlights the importance of working hand in hand with service clubs like the Lions. Their contributions play a vital role in ensuring that our parks remain vibrant and accessible for everyone.”

Jim Adams Jr., Ball Park Chair

“Over 30 years ago, community-minded individuals from the Simcoe Lions Club, along with parks and recreation staff from what was then the Town of Simcoe, came together with a vision. Their collaboration led to the creation of the Simcoe Lions Ball Park—a state-of-the-art triple-diamond facility. This partnership has only grown stronger over the years, resulting in a facility that attracts visitors of all ages. The park has become a vibrant part of the community where Lions Club members are proud to invest monetary support and sweat equity. The installation of three new digital scoreboards further enhances the park and reinforces our partnership with Norfolk County.”
