Project Description

The Young’s Creek Bridge located on Norfolk County Highway 24 East between Norfolk County Road 57 and Kitchen Road, which spans Young’s Creek south of the town of Simcoe, requires a major rehabilitation to the bridge structure.  The work will be completed using a 2-staged construction approach.

  • Stage 1 construction – east half of bridge
  • Stage 2 construction – west half of bridge

The work will include bridge jacking and bearing replacement, bridge railing and guiderail replacement, concrete repairs, road and asphalt restoration, and associated traffic control.

Traffic Management

In order to expedite the work in a safe environment, vehicular traffic control measures will be in effect. During the construction two-way traffic will be maintained, however, traffic will be signalized and alternated one lane through the site.  Signage and lane delineation markers will be in place as well as a speed zone reduction to 50km/hr.
