February 23, 2024 – Spring swimming registration, and spring and summer recreation program registration opens on Tuesday, February 27 at noon, with summer swimming registration beginning on May 7.

Residents can browse the Spring and Summer 2024 Recreation Guide online at norfolkcounty.ca/Rec to find programs and activities for all ages and abilities, including things like:

  • Summer day camps
  • Swimming lessons and water safety awareness
  • Spring and summer skating
  • Child and youth programs like indoor floor hockey and more
  • Leadership and safety courses
  • Pickleball workshops
  • Active adults, sports and more
  • Public and family swimming

The guide also announces the re-opening of the newly renovated Delhi Kinsmen Pool.

Residents who would like a printed copy of the Guide can pick one up at the Recreation Centre in Simcoe, ServiceNorfolk locations in Simcoe and Delhi, or any Norfolk County Public Library branch while supplies last. Elementary school children in Norfolk County received copies through their school earlier this month.

Programs for Seniors

The Simcoe Recreation Centre is home to the Simcoe Seniors’ Centre where members 50+ can participate in more than 40 weekly programs. The Delhi Friendship Centre at 418 Queen Street in Delhi offers a wide variety of weekly activities, from line dancing and cards to baking and shuffleboard, as well as activities over the phone through the Seniors Centre Without Walls program.

  • In person at the Simcoe Recreation Centre (182 South Drive, Simcoe), Monday to Friday 7:30 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (hours are subject to change)

Members of the community are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment.

Norfolk partners with organizations that can assist families who are experiencing financial shortfalls. Funding programs are available for children ages four to 18 years. Information can be found in the guide, or by calling 519-426-5870 extension 2233.
