Norfolk County is calling upon members of the community to get involved in the Mayor’s Affordability Roundtable by speaking at an upcoming meeting.

Meeting dates and themes

The first meeting on Tuesday, February 27, will introduce the Roundtable’s goals and outcomes focused on affordability priorities, including housing. Monthly meetings starting in March will focus on the following themes:

  • Monday, March 25 – Identifying ways that the County can provide in-kind services to residents
  • Tuesday, April 30 – Development and Housing
  • Tuesday, May 28 – Partnership opportunities with local businesses, developers and other organizations
  • Tuesday, June 25 – Lobbying to upper levels of Government

At a final meeting on Tuesday, September 24, a summary of the information gathered will be presented, and motions to be brought to Council will be finalized.

Meetings will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Council Chambers, 50 Colborne Street South, Simcoe, and streamed and recorded online at NorfolkCounty.ca/Watch.

Opportunity to get involved

Community members are encouraged to get involved by speaking at a Roundtable meeting by providing a deputation about the topic featured that month.

“I encourage members of the community to provide a deputation at an upcoming meeting to share their suggestions and ideas on how Norfolk County can move forward with initiatives to achieve greater affordability for residents now and into the future,” said Norfolk Mayor Amy Martin. “Roundtables like this one are an effective way to bring diverse perspectives forward to improve conditions for all our residents.”
