Norfolk County reminds residents that registration for a wide range of summer programs opens early May.  

Norfolk County Recreation is celebrating National Youth Week by offering free drop-in recreation programs for youth aged 12 to 17 from May 5 to 8, 2026. 

Norfolk County is raising concerns about frivolous and vexatious actions against the County that cost taxpayers money or other resources, even when the complaints, appeals or legal actions are dismissed and found to have no merit.

Norfolk County Council has approved the move of the Lynnwood Arts Centre to the Norfolk County Archives, under the terms of a new lease and contribution agreement, to be developed. 

All public beach access points in Long Point will remain open for the 2026 beach season, following a spring review by Norfolk County staff.  

Norfolk County Council has approved changes to the speed limit zones near select schools and rural roads to improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and students. The changes are based on road safety reviews, resident service requests and ongoing monitoring of traffic speeds and road conditions by County staff. 

The candidate nomination period for the 2026 municipal election opens Friday, May 1, 2026. Candidates may run for Mayor, one of eight Councillors for Norfolk County’s seven Wards, or one of four School Board Trustees. Individuals interested in running in the upcoming municipal election are encouraged to book an in-person appointment to submit their nomination

Norfolk County Council will meet on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Norfolk County Administration Building in Simcoe.

Earlier this week, Norfolk County Fire Department crews conducted a nighttime search and rescue training exercise in the Turkey Point area to strengthen coordination and readiness during low-visibility emergency responses.
