Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Heat Warning for Norfolk County with dangerously hot and humid conditions expected. A Heat Warning is issued when daytime temperatures reach 31°C or higher, overnight lows remain at 20°C or higher, or the humidex exceeds 40, for two or more consecutive days. These conditions can pose serious health risks, especially for vulnerable populations.
Norfolk County (County) has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for the Simcoe Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The Norfolk County Integrated Sustainable Master Plan (ISMP), finalized in September 2016, identified upgrades to the Simcoe WWTP’s solids handling processes, including utilizing biosolids storage tanks at the Simcoe WWTP to store biosolids from Port Dover and Port Rowan WWTPs based on a planning horizon year of 2041.
