Norfolk County's annual water main flushing program begins today and will continue through November in water systems across the County. 

Due to ongoing renovations in Council Chambers at the County Administration Building in Simcoe, Norfolk County Council and Committee meetings scheduled for September 2026 will take place at the Gilbertson Administration Building in Simcoe. 

Norfolk County Public Hearing Committee will meet on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 1 p.m. in the GAB Training Room at the Gilbertson Administration Building, 12 Gilbertson Drive, Simcoe. 

The Corporation of Norfolk County intends to control noxious weeds along all rural roadside guide rails and guide cables within its boundaries. It will begin no earlier than August 31, 2026, and will be completed by October 31, 2026.

Norfolk County is encouraging property owners to review and confirm that their mailing address on file with the County is complete and up to date to ensure they continue to receive important municipal correspondence.

The Norfolk County Clerk has officially reviewed and approved all nominations for the 2026 Municipal Election. Each candidate must satisfy the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. 

The nomination period commenced May 1, 2026, and completed on August 21, 2026, at 2 p.m. 

Norfolk County will begin delivering new garbage and organic waste carts to more than 30,000 properties starting Monday, August 24, 2026, as the municipality prepares to launch its new cart-based waste collection program on Monday, September 28, 2026.
