Norfolk County provides update on Simcoe Recreation Centre facilities

Norfolk County is providing an update on ongoing construction and repair work at the Simcoe Recreation Centre (SRC), home to the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre, Simcoe Seniors' Centre, and the multi-purpose floor.

The Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre (ACAC) is scheduled to reopen on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 12:15 p.m., subject to the completion of final repairs and facility preparations.

Swimming lessons and aquatic programs originally scheduled to begin on October 14 will be postponed by one week and will begin the week of October 19.

To welcome swimmers back, recreation staff will host welcome back events on October 20 and 21. The facility will also offer two free swims:

  • Family Swim: Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Public Swim: Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Construction work on the SRC multi-purpose floor will begin once the Norfolk County Fair concludes. The space is expected to reopen on November 1, 2026, subject to the completion of structural repairs.

The Simcoe Seniors' Centre will resume most regular operations on Thursday, October 15, 2026, following the Norfolk County Fair. Programs and activities that require use of the multi-purpose floor will remain unavailable until that space reopens.

Norfolk County thanks residents for their patience as work continues and looks forward to welcoming the community back to these spaces.
