The public beach access point at 115B Woodstock Avenue is closed effective August 21, 2026. The access point is not expected to reopen during the 2026 season. Staff will make best efforts to reopen the access point in spring 2027.
Simcoe Recreation Centre is currently experiencing internet connectivity issues on August 19, 2026. As a result, telephone service, Wi-Fi access, and internet-dependent services are temporarily unavailable while staff work to restore service.

Norfolk County Council adopted an updated Community Improvement Plan on July 28, 2026, through By-law 2026-76. The updated plan clarifies eligibility criteria for the Brownfield Tax Increment Grant. It updates administrative processes to reflect current practice, while existing financial incentives and the Community Improvement Project Area remain unchanged. Appeals may be submitted to the Ontario Land Tribunal through the Clerk's Office at 50 Colborne Street South, Simcoe, no later than August 27, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.

Update: Maintenance activities at the Port Dover Water Treatment Plant have been completed, and normal operations have been restored. The Port Dover Bulk Water Depot is now open and available for use.
