Norfolk County has maintained its AA/Stable credit rating from Standard and Poor’s (S&P).

Norfolk County continues to make progress toward a stronger financial future, according to the 2025 Audited Financial Statements and Investment Update presented at Council-in-Committee today.  

Norfolk County is temporarily stopping tire drop-off at the Simcoe Transfer Station and South Walsingham Transfer Station effective immediately due to collection delays under Ontario’s provincial tire recycling program. 

Poor air quality is being reported in Simcoe and surrounding areas due to smoke from an ongoing structure fire on Highway 3 between Simcoe and Delhi. Norfolk County Fire and Rescue Services is advising residents to keep windows and doors closed where smoke is present, limit outdoor activity, and avoid the area while emergency crews respond.

The Medical Officer of Health (MOH) for Grand Erie Public Health is issuing a Heat Alert for the Grand Erie Public Health region (Brantford-Brant and Haldimand-Norfolk), effective Monday, June 29, 2026.

Norfolk County is undertaking a Development Charge Background Study to guide how growth-related infrastructure is funded. 

As part of this work, the County is inviting members of the development community and the public to attend an online information session on Friday, July 17, to review the draft background study and by-law. 

Norfolk County Council-in-Committee will meet on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in Council Chambers at the Norfolk County Administration Building, 50 Colborne St. S., Simcoe.

Norfolk County will hold a Statutory Public Meeting on Tuesday, July 28, for the adoption of its updated Community Improvement Plan (CIP). The purpose of the Statutory Public Meeting is to provide the public with an opportunity to review the document and its changes, ask questions, and provide feedback on the proposed CIP update.

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, members of the Norfolk County Fire Department will be conducting drone training at the Delhi Administrative Building between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Residents may notice drones operating over the property as part of the training exercise.

The start time for Norfolk County’s July Council-in-Committee meeting has been changed to Tuesday, July 14, at 9:30 a.m.
