Ready to vote? Make a voting plan for Norfolk County's 2026 municipal election - October 9 - 26

This October, eligible voters in Norfolk County will choose the next Mayor, Ward Councillors, and School Board Trustees to represent them in the 2026 municipal election.  

New this year, the Norfolk County municipal election will use a hybrid voting system, combining online and in-person voting. Online voting will be available from Friday, October 9 to Friday, October 23. In-person voting will be held on Monday, October 26.  

Be ready to vote 

Eligible voters are encouraged to make a voting plan so they are prepared to cast their ballot, using the voting option most convenient for them. Follow these simple steps:  

Step 1: Confirm eligibility to vote 

Eligible voters are: 

• 18 years of age or older 
• a Canadian citizen and  
• a resident of the municipality or  
• a non-resident who owns or rents property in the municipality or  
• the spouse of an owner or tenant of property in the municipality 

Step 2 – Check your mailbox 

Voter Information Letters are being mailed to eligible voters now. Voter Information Letters contain important voting information about how to vote online, as well as in-person voting dates, times, and locations. 

Eligible voters who have not received a Voter Information Letter in the mail by Monday, October 5, 2026, can visit the Office of the County Clerk at the County Administration Building in Simcoe during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday) to be issued a letter with their unique Voter PIN. Elections staff will need proof of eligibility to vote to issue a Voter Information Letter. Review the list of acceptable identification at Ontario.ca before visiting, or call 519-426-5870 or 226-NORFOLK, extension 6269. 

Step 3 – Select a voting option, date, and time 

There are two ways to vote in the upcoming election: 

• Online, from Friday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, October 23 at 8:00 p.m. 
• In person on Voting Day, Monday, October 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

To complete the online voting process, voters will need: 

• Access to the Internet 
• Voting PIN on your Voter Information Letter 
• To be confirmed with your date of birth 
• To follow a two-step verification process by text message. 

During the online advanced voting period, Norfolk County will have several in-person locations set up to assist with online voting. There will also be an opportunity at these locations to vote using paper ballots as an advance voting option. Online Voting Assistance Centres will be available at the following locations: 

• Langton Community Centre, 28 Albert Street, Langton, on Tuesday, October 13, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm 
• Port Dover Community Centre, 801 St George Street, Port Dover, on Thursday, October 15, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm 
• Norfolk County Public Library, Simcoe Branch, 46 Colborne Street South, Simcoe, on Saturday, October 17, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm 
• Delhi Community Centre Arena, 144 Western Avenue, Delhi, on Tuesday, October 20, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm 
• Waterford Legion, 223 Nichol Street, Waterford, on Thursday, October 22, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Step 4 – If voting in person, locate the closest voting location 

On Voting Day, Monday, October 26, in-person voting is available at the following poll locations from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.: 

• Ward 1 - Port Rowan Community Centre, 14 College Avenue, Port Rowan 
• Ward 2 - Langton Community Centre, 28 Albert Street, Langton 
• Ward 3 - Delhi District Secondary School, 393 James Street, Delhi 
• Ward 4 - Vittoria Community Centre, 35 Oakes Boulevard, Vittoria 
• Ward 5 - The Jr Farmers Building, Fairgrounds, 172 South Drive, Simcoe OR Emmanuel Bible Church, 24 Churchill Circle, Simcoe  
• Ward 6 - Port Dover Community Centre, 801 St George Street, Port Dover 
• Ward 7 - Waterford Legion, 223 Nichol Street W, Waterford

Identification that contains the voter’s name and address is required to vote. Review the list of acceptable identification at Ontario.ca.
