From September 14 to 18, Norfolk County is recognizing Septic Awareness Week, an annual campaign focused on helping property owners better understand and maintain their septic systems.

Registration for Norfolk County’s fall recreation programs opens Tuesday, September 15 at 7 a.m. Residents can browse the new Fall and Winter Recreation and Community Guide now to make their fall and winter plans.

Norfolk County residents are reminded that most County services, and all County buildings, will not be open or available on Labour Day, Monday, September 7, 2026. 

Norfolk County is advising residents that the reopening of the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre (ACAC) pool has been delayed, and the facility will not reopen in September as originally planned. 

Norfolk County will host two Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection events this fall, providing residents with a safe and convenient way to dispose of household hazardous materials. Registration opens Thursday, September 3 at noon. 

Norfolk County's annual water main flushing program begins today and will continue through November in water systems across the County. 

Due to ongoing renovations in Council Chambers at the County Administration Building in Simcoe, Norfolk County Council and Committee meetings scheduled for September 2026 will take place at the Gilbertson Administration Building in Simcoe. 

Norfolk County is encouraging property owners to review and confirm that their mailing address on file with the County is complete and up to date to ensure they continue to receive important municipal correspondence.  

The Norfolk County Clerk has officially reviewed and approved all nominations for the 2026 Municipal Election. Each candidate must satisfy the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. 

The nomination period commenced May 1, 2026, and completed on August 21, 2026, at 2 p.m. 

Norfolk County will begin delivering new garbage and organic waste carts to more than 30,000 properties starting Monday, August 24, 2026, as the municipality prepares to launch its new cart-based waste collection program on Monday, September 28, 2026.
