The start time for Norfolk County’s February Council-in-Committee meeting has been changed to Tuesday, February 10, at 9:30 a.m. 

Norfolk County is advising residents and local businesses that snow removal operations are scheduled to begin at 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3. The timing remains tentative and may change if plowing is required. County staff will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and will provide updates as needed.

Norfolk County Council has officially adopted the 2026 Levy Operating Budget following Budget Committee deliberations held on January 21, 2026. As permitted under the Strong Mayor framework, the remaining amendment period was waived, and the Mayor has also waived the veto period, allowing the budget to take effect immediately. 

The reopening of the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre has been delayed until Friday, January 23.

Norfolk County is advising residents about updates to waste collection presented to Council‑in‑Committee on Tuesday, January 13, which will take effect September 29, 2026, as part of the new curbside waste collection programs. 

Mayor Amy Martin tabled the draft 2026 Levy Operating Budget today, fulfilling her legislated responsibilities under the Municipal Act.  The proposed budget aims to balance fiscal responsibility with strategic investments that support essential services and community priorities. 

Norfolk County employees contributed $34,903 to local charities in 2025 through the Dress Down Days initiative, also known as 3D Fridays.

The Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre remains closed after a flood in the filtration room on Monday, December 29, caused significant damage to the pool’s water system and boilers. 

Staff are actively working to repair or replace damaged equipment. The pool is expected to reopen on Saturday, January 17.

Norfolk County reminds residents that all dogs must be licensed in accordance with the Animal Care and Control By-Law. Kennel owners are also required to obtain a licence under the by-law. 

Norfolk County will operate Christmas tree recycling depots from December 26, 2025, to January 11, 2026. The service provides multiple drop-off locations across the county to support responsible disposal after the holiday season.
