Waste Cart Requests
Norfolk County offers different garbage cart sizes to help meet your needs.
Requests available now
Property owners can request the following cart changes. Beginning April 1, 2027, a $50 fee will apply to new cart change requests.
Residential properties
Additional or large-size carts (360 L) are not available to residential properties.
Exemptions
Waste exemptions are available for households that qualify for medical, diaper, or home daycare exemptions.
New homeowners
Residents moving into new homes, or into a home without waste carts (the previous property owner did not leave carts behind), can request carts online.
Residential farm properties
Residential farm properties can request:
- A second grey garbage cart of any size
- A second green organics cart (120 L)
Residential farm properties have a 200-series MPAC code. Read more on the MPAC website.
Commercial properties
Commercial properties must register for the new curbside waste collection program. There is no cost to register.
Commercial properties (including commercial, industrial, institutional, special/exempt, and Government) have MPAC codes in the 400-800 series. Read more on the MPAC website.
Commercial properties can request:
- A second grey garbage cart of any size
- A second green organics cart (120 L)
Requests available on December 1, 2026
Property owners can request the following cart changes starting on December 1, 2026. Beginning April 1, 2027, a $50 fee will apply to new cart change requests.
Residential properties
- Request to change their small (120 L) garbage cart to a standard (240 L) grey garbage cart
OR - Request to change their standard (240 L) grey garbage cart to a small (120 L) grey garbage cart
Residential farm properties*
- Request to change their grey garbage cart to a grey garbage cart of any size
Commercial properties*
- Request to change their grey garbage cart to a grey garbage cart of any size
