Bulky Item Pick-Up

The bulky item pick-up program is available across Norfolk County.

Items must be generated from a household. The load size is limited to 2 cubic meters (the approximate size of a pickup truck box), each item can be a maximum of 10 feet long, and items must be able to be lifted by two people. Learn more about items that are accepted and not accepted for pickup.

Appointments can be booked and pre-paid through ServiceNorfolk by using the Online Booking Tool, calling 519-426-5870 or 226-NORFOLK, extension 0, or visiting a Customer Service Desk in Simcoe or Delhi.

Cost

  • $40, including tax per pick up (not refundable)
  • Pre-payment is required

Pick up schedule

Pick-up appointments can be booked during the following weeks each month, and collection will occur at any point during that week. Items must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday of your designated appointment week.

Items accepted for bulky item pickup

  • Appliances (stove, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer)
    • Refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, freezers, or any Freon-type appliances require an Ozone Depletion Prevention tag attached to be collected.
  • Furniture such as sofas, couches, desks, chairs, tables, rugs, patio furniture, bedsprings, mattresses, and bed frames
  • Fixtures such as bathtubs, toilets, and sinks
  • Other items from a household, such as water heaters, bicycles, barbeques (propane tank removed)
  • Any other large articles that would come from inside a household
  • Carpet or pool covers rolled and tied (max 4 feet x 2 feet)

Items not accepted for bulky item pickup

  • Business, commercial, agricultural and construction material
  • Wood
  • Small items, loose refuse and other rubbish waste
  • Construction material, masonry, or any rubble or refuse from building repairs or construction, including:
    • Glass, windows, doors, siding, lumber, drywall, concrete, stone, earth, asphalt, bricks, fencing, decking, ceramic tile
  • Organic materials such as trees, tree stumps, leaves, branches, animal carcasses, and feces
  • Manufacturing, industrial or commercial materials
  • Agricultural waste, fencing, crates, skids, and plastic material from farm activities
  • Farm machinery or equipment parts
  • Automotive parts or bodies
  • Household fuel oil tanks or items with gasoline tanks (e.g., lawn mowers)
  • Drums, fire barrels
  • Electronics
  • Liquid waste, motor oil, paints, solvents, propane tanks, fertilizers, pesticides or any hazardous waste
  • Tires
  • Recyclables like glass jars, paper, and cardboard.
