Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade

Norfolk County is one of Ontario's leading agricultural regions. Reliable infrastructure is essential to getting locally grown products to market efficiently, supporting businesses, attracting investment, creating jobs, and building a resilient local food system.

Investments in transportation, food processing, and regional food hubs will strengthen the agricultural economy, improve food security, and ensure Norfolk remains competitive while supporting long-term economic growth.

Where we're at

Norfolk County requests that the Province invest in strategic transportation and agricultural infrastructure to improve market access, support workforce development, strengthen food security, and enhance local food processing capacity. This includes exploring a lake barge service to bring goods to market quickly and provide environmental benefits.

Norfolk asks that the Province

  • Assist in establishing infrastructure to help make Norfolk County an attractive place for investment, resulting in job creation
  • Increase sustainable funding support for rural public transit systems which provide essential transportation services across a large geographic area, connecting residents to employment, healthcare, education, and community services

Norfolk is ready.

We can grow Ontario, together.
