High-speed internet access is one step closer for unserved residents in Norfolk County.

A life-sized reproduction of Canada’s beloved “Theodore Tugboat” will visit the shores of Norfolk County this week.

Norfolk County has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to implement an approximately 20 km length transmission watermain that connects Simcoe to the Townsend Water Supply System.

The pedestrian crosswalk on Main Street at the Greenock Street intersection in Port Dover will be completed on July 29.  With that in mind, County staff are reminding residents that pedestrians have the right of way at these crossings.

Norfolk County is currently seeking interested applicants for appointment to a Municipal Elections Compliance Audit Committee for the 2022 Municipal Election. The term of office for this committee is four years beginning Nov. 15, 2022.

On July 13, Standard and Poor’s (S&P) published Norfolk County’s credit rating, affirming the AA/Stable rating.

Norfolk County will host the Norfolk County’s Multi-Sector Job Fair—Wednesday, June 22 from 1-6 p.m. at The Aud in Simcoe (172 South Drive).

The time has almost come to enjoy Norfolk County’s first-ever Community Day. County staff, along with a host of community sponsors and groups have come together to provide a day of fun for everyone across the municipality on June 18.

In conjunction with the Newcomer Centre of Peel, and Venture Norfolk, Norfolk County welcomed a group of immigrants currently based in the GTA (most displaced due to conflict in Ukraine), toured sites in Norfolk searching for employees in welding, labour and trades, wine making, restaurant management and wait staff, farm help, truck driving, and more.
