Norfolk County is excited to announce that it has won three Marketing Canada Awards at the 2024 Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) Annual Conference. 

Norfolk staff are extending dates for routine maintenance to water mains in Delhi, Simcoe, and Port Dover. Work in the communities of Port Rowan and Waterford is now complete.  

Norfolk County will transition the blue box program to the producer responsibility model starting September 28, 2024. Residents and businesses participating in the weekly curbside recycling program will not experience any changes. Norfolk Disposal Services Ltd will continue to collect curbside recycling.

Norfolk County’s Paramedics team is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Health will provide one-time funding through the Dedicated Offload Nurses Program to help ensure a more timely and efficient transfer of care for patients arriving at Norfolk General Hospital by ambulance.

In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Monday, September 30, 2024, Norfolk County will raise the ‘Survivor Flag’ on Friday, September 27 at the County Administration Building in Simcoe, where it will remain until Tuesday, October 1.

Flags at the County Administration Building in Simcoe have been lowered to half-mast for three days, beginning September 23 to honour the life of former Councillor for Ward 1, Betty Chanyi, who passed away this past weekend. 

Norfolk County is joining communities across Ontario for “Test Your Smoke Alarm Day” on September 28, an initiative focused on enhancing fire safety. Also known as “Saved by the Beep,” the day serves as a vital reminder for everyone to check that their smoke alarms are functioning properly—a simple action that could save lives.

Norfolk County is giving residents the opportunity to provide feedback on the future ownership and governance of its municipally owned marinas in Port Dover and Port Rowan.
