Waste Exemptions
Norfolk County offers waste exemptions for eligible households, which may include access to a large garbage cart or a second garbage cart.
Waste exemptions are available for:
- Diaper waste (households with 3 or more children in diapers)
- Medical waste generated in the home (a certified health care provider’s signature verifying the medical condition is required)
- Home daycare waste
Eligible residents must apply and be approved under the Curbside Waste Exemption Policy before additional garbage capacity is provided. Exemptions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be renewed annually.
The application for waste exemptions is currently paused until the new waste program is launched. Starting September 28, eligible households can submit an application at any time if their circumstances require additional garbage capacity.
