Community Days welcomes you to Norfolk County community centres, museums, libraries, fire halls, pools, arenas, and parks throughout the County for free recreational and socio-cultural activities.

Thursday, June 12

Norfolk County Fairgrounds, Simcoe – Simcoe Farmers Market 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
HN REACH EarlyON Child & Family Centre – Simcoe (12 Colborne St. North) Grow With Us – Join us during morning Play & Learn, drop-in to do some planting and play at our EarlyON free family programming. 9 a.m. -12 p.m.

St. Williams Ball Diamond – Family Fun! NCPL will be providing games, family activities, and story walk! St. Williams Lions and St. Williams United Church will be providing refreshments, goodie bags and fun giveaways! Meet & Greet with Norfolk County Firefighters! The Norfolk County Fire Department will have a fire truck and firefighters on site, come say hi, ask questions, see a fire truck! 6 – 8 p.m.
Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre – Free Public Swim 6:45-7:45 p.m.
Free family movie night, 22 Albert Street, Langton, hosted by Norfolk Community Help Center and Norfolk County Fire, Langton Lions will be providing snacks. The Movie starts at 7:00 pm. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

Riversyde 83, Simcoe – Church Out Serving presents “Outside at Riversyde”, Free BBQ! 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Delhi Tobacco Museum & Heritage Centre - Fun with florals! Come explore your artistic side at Delhi Tobacco Museum & Heritage Centre this Norfolk County Community Day. The museum is happy to have artist and long-time Delhi resident Catherine Murphy do an abstract floral painting workshop at the museum on June 14th. All supplies will be provided. Spaces are limited. Preregistration is required (www.norfolkheritage.ca ). June 14 - 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. $20 per person
Port Dover Harbour Museum – Riverfront Park – 4th Annual Arbor Dog Races – Sponsored by The Arbor – Weenies will race to claim the prize of fastest hot dog around. Are your dogs a little taller? Enter the Heinz 57 race! There’s also agility tests, costume contest and parade. www.norfolkheritage.ca 11 a.m. -3 p.m.
This Community Day, June 14th, the Norfolk County Archives is hosting two events for the history lover in your life! From 10 am – 2 pm, the Archives will be filled to the brim with interesting and informative local history and genealogy books for sale. With such a huge variety of interesting and informative books, you are sure to find your next read! Cash, debit and credit are accepted. And the fun doesn’t stop there! Every 15 minutes from 11 am - 12 pm, there will be a FREE drop-in Genealogy Showcase. Have you ever wanted to research your Norfolk roots, but you don’t know where to start? This show-and-tell style event will allow you to see firsthand the archives’ most popular genealogical resources.
Be sure to also stop by and check out our current exhibits: Crime & Punishment: Maintaining Order in Norfolk and Old Boys & Girls Reunion: 100 Years. We hope to see you there!
Delhi Kinsmen Pool – Free Open Swim 1:15-3:15 p.m. NCPL fun games including “Tetris and cornhole” for prizes and Storybook Walk, Norfolk County Fire Department.
Delhi Minor Baseball Fundraiser - HomeRun Derby from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. $5 per participant. Participants compete in three age categories for fastest pitch (radar gun in bullpen) and closest to the pin (hitting off a pitching machine toward golf flags set by age group). Prizes include Delhi Tigers swag and canteen treats. Popcorn for sale, and the canteen is open for snacks.
FREE Family Sticks and Pucks – Waterford Arena – 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Sunday, June 15

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Discover Morning at Long Point Eco Adventures! Start with a guided walk led by Pathways for People, followed by family fun featuring live music from Brenda Atkinson, outdoor education with Long Point Biosphere, a coloring contest by Pathways for People, games and giveaways with Norfolk County, and a free mosaic craft by Function Glass with Ingrid. Stay after 12:00 p.m. to enjoy optional activities at Eco Adventures!
