Norfolk County is inviting residents, trail and road users to share their feedback as part of the Mechanic Street West Corridor Review. 

This October, eligible voters in Norfolk County will choose the next Mayor, Ward Councillors, and School Board Trustees to represent them in the 2026 municipal election.  

Norfolk County is reminding residents that its new curbside waste collection program launches on Monday, September 28, 2026, bringing changes to garbage collection, a new organics program, and new collection schedules across the municipality.

Norfolk County has received $25,000 through the Hydro One Community Partnership Grant program to support emergency preparedness and public safety. 

On June 17, 2026, Norfolk County announced that it had resolved its ongoing legal dispute with Warren Cummings. As part of the settlement, the County agreed to accept just over $46,000, a discounted amount, towards Norfolk’s court-awarded recovery of costs, a formal Apology and Retraction (download to read), and a Full and Final Release (download to read) of all claims against the County and its officials.

Norfolk County is recognizing a generous $80,000 donation from the Simcoe Kinsmen Club to support the Simcoe Splash Pad. The donation represents years of fundraising and community support to help preserve the popular community amenities.

From September 14 to 18, Norfolk County is recognizing Septic Awareness Week, an annual campaign focused on helping property owners better understand and maintain their septic systems.

Registration for Norfolk County’s fall recreation programs opens Tuesday, September 15 at 7 a.m. Residents can browse the new Fall and Winter Recreation and Community Guide now to make their fall and winter plans.

Norfolk County is advising residents that the reopening of the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre (ACAC) pool has been delayed, and the facility will not reopen in September as originally planned.
