Port Rowan Bulk Water Depot continues to be temporarily out of service

Norfolk County is advising residents that the Port Rowan Bulk Water Depot continues to be temporarily out of service as crews work to address issues related to the water intake at the Port Rowan Water Treatment Plant.

The temporary bulk water depot closure is a continuation of the service disruption announced on February 16.

Ice buildup and low lake levels are impacting the water intake from Lake Erie at the Port Rowan Water Treatment Plant, which supplies the bulk water depot. As a temporary measure, water is being pumped from the Port Rowan Marina, and residents may notice a pump and associated piping in the marina area as part of this setup. The marina remains open and available for regular use.

Drinking water quality across the municipal system remains safe. This disruption will not affect the quality of tap water for residents connected to municipal water services, and no action is required.

Bulk water remains available at other Norfolk County bulk water depots, including locations in Port Dover, Simcoe, Waterford, and Delhi.

Norfolk County will provide updates as more information becomes available.
