When is the 2026 Municipal Election?
Voting Day for the Municipal Election is Monday, October 26, 2026. Polls will open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.
The online voting portal will be open from 10:00 a.m. on October 9, 2026, to 8:00 p.m. on October 23, 2026.
What are my options to vote this year?
All Norfolk County voters will have the opportunity to cast their vote in person on Election Day, October 26, 2026.
Additionally, new this year to Norfolk County, voters will have the opportunity to vote during the advance online voting period from October 9 to October 23, 2026.

How do I update my school board support?
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is required by legislation to collect school support information. You can update your school support designation through MPAC.
Can post-secondary students vote in two places?
Yes. They can vote in both their “home” residence if they return there, and if they live away from home where they attend school, they can also vote in that municipality.
Can I still vote if I have no permanent lodging?

I would like to run in the 2026 Municipal Election. How do I file my nomination package?
You must make an appointment with the Norfolk County Office of the Clerk to file your nomination package. Read more about running as a candidate.
How can I withdraw my candidacy?
If a candidate decides to withdraw from the election, he or she must file a Withdrawal of Nomination Form, in person with the County Clerk's Office, no later than 2 p.m. on nomination day, Friday, August 21, 2026.
A candidate who withdraws is still required to submit a completed financial statement covering all financial transactions made up to the date the nomination was withdrawn.
