For voters

Voting Day for the Municipal Election is Monday, October 26, 2026. Polls will open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. 

The online voting portal will be open from 10:00 a.m. on October 9, 2026, to 8:00 p.m. on October 23, 2026. 

All Norfolk County voters will have the opportunity to cast their vote in person on Election Day, October 26, 2026.

Additionally, new this year to Norfolk County, voters will have the opportunity to vote during the advance online voting period from October 9 to October 23, 2026.

The list of certified candidates for the 2026 Municipal Election will be available following Certification Day on Monday, August 24, 2026.

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is required by legislation to collect school support information. You can update your school support designation through MPAC.

Yes. They can vote in both their “home” residence if they return there, and if they live away from home where they attend school, they can also vote in that municipality. 

Yes. Please see the rules for no permanent lodging as described below: 

  1. The place to which the person most frequently returned to sleep or eat during the five weeks preceding the determination is their residence. 
  2. If the person returns with equal frequency to one place to sleep and to another to eat, the place to which they return to sleep is their residence. 
  3. Multiple returns to the same place during a single day, whether to eat or to sleep, shall be considered one return. 
  4. A person’s declaration regarding the places to which they returned to eat or sleep during a given time period is conclusive, in the absence of evidence to the contrary.  

For candidates

You must make an appointment with the Norfolk County Office of the Clerk to file your nomination package.  Read more about running as a candidate

If a candidate decides to withdraw from the election, he or she must file a Withdrawal of Nomination Form, in person with the County Clerk's Office, no later than 2 p.m. on nomination day, Friday, August 21, 2026.

A candidate who withdraws is still required to submit a completed financial statement covering all financial transactions made up to the date the nomination was withdrawn.
