Yard Waste program begins April 6, 2026
Norfolk County’s spring urban yard waste collection program begins the week of April 6, 2026.
Collection will take place by zone on regular waste collection days:
- Zone one: Simcoe and Long Point – week of April 6
- Zone two: Port Dover, Langton, and Port Rowan – week of April 13
- Zone three: Turkey Point, Vittoria, St. Williams, Courtland, Delhi, and Waterford – week of April 13
Residents should place yard waste curbside in brown paper leaf bags on their scheduled collection day. Plastic bags will not be collected.
Other disposal options
Yard waste can also be managed by mulching leaves into lawns, composting at home, or taking material to the Simcoe or South Walsingham transfer stations.
Protect roads and storm drains
Residents are reminded not to rake or blow leaves or grass clippings onto streets or neighbouring properties, as prohibited under By-law 2004-213. Yard waste left on roadways can clog storm drains, create slippery conditions, and interfere with street sweeping operations.
