What’s open and closed in Norfolk County Easter weekend 2026
Norfolk County would like to remind residents of changes to programs, facilities, and services throughout the Easter holiday weekend, including modified hours and temporary closures.
County Administration Buildings
All County administration buildings will be closed on Good Friday, April 3, and Easter Monday, April 6. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, April 7, at 8:30 a.m.
Emergency, Essential and Critical Services
Fire and Paramedic Services will continue to operate as usual.
Court closures
The Provincial Offences Court at the Robinson Administration Building in Simcoe will be closed.
Housing and Social Services
Simcoe and Dunnville offices will be closed. For crisis support, such as emergency accommodation, call the Victim Services Support Line at 1-800-264-6671.
Heritage and Culture
All museums, including the Norfolk County Archives, will be closed from Good Friday, April 3, and will reopen for regular hours on Tuesday, April 7.
On Saturday, April 4, the Waterford Heritage & Agricultural Museum will host its Easter Eggstravaganza for children ages 12 and younger at the Waterford Arena baseball diamonds. Gates open at 10:45 a.m. with the egg hunt beginning at 11:00 a.m. Admission is $5 per child. The event is sponsored by the Waterford Chamber of Commerce.
Norfolk County Public Library
All Branches are closed on Friday, April 3, Sunday, April 5 and Monday, April 6. However, all electronic and digital resources, including eBooks, audiobooks, online learning, and streaming movies and music, remain available 24/7 at ncpl.ca.
Recreation
The Simcoe Recreation Centre, including the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre and Simcoe Seniors Centre, the Delhi Friendship Centre, and County arenas will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Norfolk County trails and parks remain open and available for public use.
Ride Norfolk
Ride Norfolk will not be operating on Good Friday or Easter Monday.
ServiceNorfolk
ServiceNorfolk will be closed, with regular hours resuming Tuesday, April 7. Residents can submit non-urgent service requests or general inquiries anytime through service.norfolkcounty.ca.
For urgent issues related to forestry, parks and facilities, roads, water, sewer, waste, or drainage, please call 1-877-298-5888.
By-law concerns during the closure can be directed to the OPP non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122.
Transfer Stations
Both Simcoe and South Walsingham Transfer Stations will be closed on Good Friday, April 3.
Waste Collection
There will be no garbage or recycling collection on Good Friday, April 3. Friday’s collection will take place on Saturday, April 4. The week of Easter Monday (April 6 to 10), waste collection is unaffected.
Residents are encouraged to use the Recycle Coach app for instant access to their area’s collection schedule, personalized reminders, and more. The app is available on the iTunes Store and the Google Play Store.
