Seasonal watering restrictions in effect across Norfolk County for 2026

Norfolk County reminds residents that seasonal watering restrictions are in effect in urban areas until September 15 to help conserve water during peak summer demand.

The rules are set out in Norfolk County’s Watering Restrictions By-law (2003-63), which regulates outdoor water use from May 15 to September 15, including set watering times and an odd/even schedule based on house number.

Residents and businesses must:

  • Water only from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
  • Follow the odd/even watering schedule based on house number; for example, a house number of 210 may water only on even-numbered days each month

Newly planted sod is exempt for the first 24 hours following installation.
