Registration for Spring Household Hazardous Waste Events opens March 18
Residents can register for Norfolk County’s 2026 Spring Household Hazardous Waste events beginning Wednesday, March 18, at noon. These appointment‑based events provide a safe and responsible way to dispose of household materials that may pose risks to people, pets, and the environment.
Two spring events are scheduled:
- Simcoe: Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Simcoe Facilities Operations Building, 591 Norfolk Street South
- Delhi: Saturday, May 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Delhi Roads Central Yard, 340 Argyle Avenue
Accepted items include aerosol cans, all types of batteries, household cleaners and disinfectants, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, 20‑lb propane tanks and cylinders, gasoline, oil and oil filters, pharmaceuticals and syringes, paints and stains, pesticides and insecticides, and pool chemicals.
Items that will not be accepted include hazardous materials in containers larger than 20 litres (five gallons); agricultural, commercial, or industrial waste; PCBs; explosives; or radioactive waste.
Electronic waste is no longer collected at Household Hazardous Waste events. Information on retailer take‑back options is available at norfolkcounty.ca/Waste.
Appointments are scheduled in 30‑minute time slots, with multiple vehicles assigned per window. Unloading may take place at any point during the scheduled time.
Additional Household Hazardous Waste events will be held this fall in Simcoe on Saturday, October 3, and Langton on Saturday, October 31. Registration for fall events opens September 3 at noon.
