Notice of application to repeal Heritage designation By-Law 2006-191 for 841 Norfolk Street North, Simcoe

Take notice that an application has been received under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act to repeal By-law 2006-191, which designates the property municipally known as 841 Norfolk Street North, Simcoe.

The property is located at the corner of Norfolk Street North and Fourteenth Concession Road, at the northern end of Simcoe. The building was designated in 2006 for its significance in terms of its original builder/owner and fine architectural detailing. The features of historic significance, including the ‘cat’s paw’ mouldings, large windows and brick detailing, remain unchanged. 

The application seeks to repeal the designation By-law, thereby removing the property’s heritage status. 

Any person may submit written comments or objections within 30 days from the date of publication in the newspaper (beginning June 18, 2026).
