Norfolk offering tour of Simcoe Recycling Facility

March 5, 2024 – Norfolk staff members are preparing to provide a look behind the scenes of the County’s recycling process.

Norfolk County’s Environmental and Infrastructure Services team is inviting residents for a public tour of the Norfolk Facility Recovery Facility located at 28 Grigg Drive in Simcoe March 13.

From 9:30 a.m. until noon, residents can see first-hand what happens to recycling after leaving the curb. Attendees will learn how materials are sorted and baled in preparation to be sold and made into new recycled products.

“Our team does a tremendous job ensuring as many items as possible are diverted from landfill,” said Norfolk County Mayor Amy Martin. “This is a great opportunity for taxpayers to further learn about the recycling process, ask questions, and be more informed about what can go to the curb what can be recycled.”
