Norfolk County prepares for Friday the 13th in Port Dover

Norfolk County is gearing up to welcome thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts to Port Dover for the iconic Friday the 13th (PD13) rally on Friday, June 13, 2025. This long-standing tradition, now in its 44th year, continues to draw visitors from across North America for a day of celebration, camaraderie, and community spirit.

While the event is organized by the Kinsmen Club of Port Dover and the Port Dover Board of Trade, Norfolk County plays a vital role in ensuring public safety, traffic management, and emergency access throughout the event.

New for June 2025: enhanced traffic control for motorcycles

To improve traffic flow and safety, St. George Street, Walker Street, and St. Andrew Street will be designated motorcycle-only routes during the event. These streets will be closed to passenger vehicles, with access restricted to motorcycles and authorized vehicles only.
As in previous years, a one-way traffic loop will be in effect, with support from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to manage traffic and ensure a smooth experience for all attendees.

Street closures and parking restrictions

Temporary street closures will begin at 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, and remain in effect until 4 a.m. on Saturday, June 14. Key closures include:

 •    Main Street (Nelson to Walker)
•    Chapman Street East & West
•    Market Street West
•    Nelson Street East, Greenock Street West, Richardson Drive, and Main Street (Clifford to Nelson) on Friday only

Designated “No Parking – Tow Away Zones” will be strictly enforced. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Plan for a safe and enjoyable experience

Norfolk County encourages all attendees to:
•    Review the event map and plan routes in advance
•    Use designated motorcycle parking to keep emergency routes clear
•    Be courteous to residents and fellow visitors
•    Follow all traffic and safety regulations
•    Drink responsibly and never ride impaired

Additional services, including shuttle buses, washroom facilities, and food and merchandise vendors, will be available throughout Port Dover. Visitors are also encouraged to explore the broader offerings of Norfolk County, from scenic routes to local shops and eateries.
