Norfolk County planning ahead for spring tree planting season

Norfolk County is preparing for its spring 2026 tree planting season and is inviting residents to submit requests through the Tree Planting Program. 

Landowners interested in having a tree planted within the County road allowance adjacent to their property are encouraged to submit a tree planting request. Once a request is submitted, Forestry staff will assess the request for planting suitability, including space, nearby utilities, sight lines, drainage, and available tree species. Not all requests will result in planting, but all are reviewed carefully. 

Tree planting takes place in spring or fall, depending on tree availability and site conditions. Requests are accepted year-round, but to be considered for spring planting, residents are encouraged to submit requests by December 31, 2025.
