Norfolk County Paramedic Services receives $25,000 to strengthen mental health supports

Norfolk County Paramedic Services has received $25,000 through Ontario’s Mental Health Supports for Public Safety Personnel (MHS4PSP) Grant Program. This provincial initiative focuses on training and capacity-building to strengthen mental health, and wellness supports for public safety personnel.

The funding will be used to deliver peer support training, leadership development, wellness programs, and anti-stigma education, offered both in-person and virtually to Norfolk County Paramedic Services staff. These programs are designed to enhance mental health awareness, foster resilience, and provide effective coping strategies for managing the challenges of high-stress emergency situations.

As part of its plan to protect Ontario and keep communities safe, the Ontario government is investing $32 million to expand access to specialized mental health services for first responders and public safety personnel. Emergency health, fire, and police services across the province are receiving funding through the 2025-26 MHS4PSP program.
