Norfolk County launches 2026 tree giveaway

Norfolk County is pleased to announce the launch of its 2026 tree giveaway, with 370 native trees available to residents through a random draw in celebration of Earth Week.

The giveaway opens Wednesday, April 15, and runs until Wednesday, April 22, 2026. The initiative supports environmental stewardship and helps protect and grow Norfolk County’s tree canopy as part of local climate action efforts.

Residents can enter the draw by completing an online entry form and selecting their top three tree choices. A limit of one tree per household applies.

Tree species available through the 2026 giveaway include red maple, Canada serviceberry, white birch, eastern redbud, eastern flowering dogwood, tulip tree, blackgum, sycamore, and black cherry.

To participate, entrants must be Norfolk County residents and commit to planting the tree on private property within Norfolk County, with permission from the property owner. Successful entrants will be contacted by email after the draw.

Tree pickup will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Residents are reminded to contact OntarioOneCall.ca before digging to ensure underground utilities are located.
