Norfolk County is reminding residents about 2026 dog and kennel licences

Norfolk County reminds residents that all dogs must be licensed in accordance with the Animal Care and Control By-Law. Kennel owners are also required to obtain a licence under the by-law.

Licensing is an important step in animal care and is the quickest way to ensure a dog is returned if it becomes lost. Proof of spay or neuter is required for all new licences, and proof of rabies vaccination is required for every application.

Licenses are valid for the calendar year from the date of purchase and must be renewed annually.

Dog licences can be purchased in person at:

  • ServiceNorfolk customer service counters in Simcoe and Delhi
  • Norfolk County Public Library branches
  • Paulmac’s Pets in Simcoe
  • Pet Value in Simcoe
  • Ruffin’s Pet Centre in Simcoe

Kennel licensing can be submitted by visiting a ServiceNorfolk customer service counter in Simcoe or Delhi.
