Norfolk County invites public input on key economic development initiatives
Norfolk County is exploring three strategic initiatives aimed at boosting the local economy and is inviting residents to share their insights and feedback.
To support this work, the County is assessing the feasibility of:
- A Municipal Development Corporation (MDC): A new model to pursue business opportunities more efficiently and proactively
- An Industrial Land Strategy: A plan to attract new employers and support long-term job growth.
- A Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT): A funding tool to enhance tourism and economic development efforts, and support all accommodation providers.
Learn more about each of these initiatives and their potential impact by visiting EngageNorfolk.ca.

Community members are encouraged to attend an Open House on Wednesday, September 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Simcoe Recreation Centre (Norfolk Room, 2nd Floor). County staff and consultants will be available to answer questions and provide additional information.
Feedback can also be shared online through surveys available at EngageNorfolk.ca until Monday, September 29. Printed copies of the survey will be available at Norfolk County Public Library branches and ServiceNorfolk counters.
Public input will help shape recommendations that will be presented to Norfolk County Council in December 2025.
