Norfolk County Fire Department recruiting volunteer firefighters for eight stations
Beginning today and continuing through August 24, 2026, the Norfolk County Fire Department is recruiting volunteer firefighters to serve at eight stations across Norfolk County.
Volunteer firefighters play a vital role in protecting residents, businesses, and visitors. No previous firefighting experience is required.
Stations currently recruiting include:
- Station 1 (Simcoe)
- Station 5 (Delhi)
- Station 6 (Courtland)
- Station 7 (Langton)
- Station 8 (Fairground)
- Station 9 (Port Rowan)
- Station 10 (St. Williams)
- Station 11 (Vittoria)
Attend an open house
Residents interested in becoming volunteer firefighters are encouraged to attend one of two open house events. The sessions are open to applicants applying to any of the eight stations recruiting. The open house will provide an opportunity to meet local firefighters, tour the station, learn about the recruitment process, and ask questions.

Training and certification
New recruits will participate in a comprehensive training program designed to prepare them for volunteer firefighting duties. Required training and certification are provided at no cost to volunteers and are reimbursed in accordance with County policies.
Applicant testing is mandatory and will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, beginning at 8 a.m. sharp.
