Norfolk County encourages residents to prepare together during Emergency Preparedness Week

This week, Norfolk County joins communities across Canada in marking Emergency Preparedness (EP) Week.

EP Week is a national initiative that encourages residents to take steps to prepare for emergencies before they happen. This year’s theme, Prepared Together, highlights the value of working with family, friends, and neighbours to build reliable support networks that can help during an emergency.

Emergencies such as severe weather, power outages, and flooding can affect entire communities. Preparing ahead of time, both at home and with the people around you, can help reduce risks and support safer, more effective responses when emergencies occur.

Enter to win a 72-hour “grab-and-go” kit

To promote emergency readiness, Norfolk County is launching a 72 hour “grab-and-go” emergency kit giveaway. Residents can enter for a chance to win one of three emergency kits filled with essential items needed to get through the first 72 hours of an emergency. Entries will be accepted on the County’s official Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube accounts, and at EngageNorfolk.ca/BePrepared. For full contest details and rules, visit norfolkcounty.ca/BePrepared.
