Norfolk County employees raise $34,903 for local charities through “3D Fridays”

Norfolk County employees contributed $34,903 to local charities in 2025 through the Dress Down Days initiative, also known as 3D Fridays.  

The program provides staff with the option to donate $2 each week in exchange for dressing casually on Fridays. Donations are collected and distributed monthly to selected organizations. 

Charities supported in 2025 included: 

  • January: Community Access Living  
  • February: Canadian Mental Health Association
  • March: Lynn Valley Trail Association
  • April: H-N Community Senior Support Services
  • May: Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice
  • June: Purrfect Companions of Norfolk
  • July: Achieve Mental Health Wellness and Recovery Centre  
  • August: Haldimand & Norfolk Women’s Services  
  • September: Woodland Cultural Centre  
  • October: KidSport Canada  
  • November: Simcoe Caring Cupboard Food Bank
  • December: Haldimand Norfolk Literacy Council  

The Norfolk County Employee Social Committee oversees the selection of recipient charities each year, drawing on staff recommendations. Monthly donations are combined and presented as a single contribution to support a range of local initiatives.
