Norfolk County Declares Significant Weather Event

Norfolk County has declared a Significant Weather Event, effective Friday, December 23 at 6 pm, as a winter storm continues to move through the area. This notice will be lifted when conditions improve, and staff safety is no longer a concern.

Plows have been pulled off County roads due to white-out conditions and safety concerns for operators. Residents are advised to use extra caution and should remove any parked vehicles from the road to allow plows to clear roads.

The combination of snowfall and extreme winds will create hazardous travel conditions, and the County is asking residents to postpone non-essential travel until conditions improve.

Updates will be communicated through Norfolk’s social media channels (@NorfolkCountyCA respectively, on Facebook and Twitter).

Residents are encouraged to visit Hydro One’s website for information on preparing for storms, and how to stay safe during a power outage.
