Fire ban lifted in Norfolk County

With significant rainfall accumulated on Sunday and Monday, the Norfolk County Fire Department is lifting the open-air fire ban.

Norfolk County Fire Chief, Gord Stilwell, issued a fire ban on June 8 after several weeks of warm, dry conditions and poor air quality due to forest fires in northeastern Ontario.

Burn permits will once again be issued by ServiceNorfolk. Those who wish to acquire one can call 519-426-5870 or 226-NORFOLK extension 0, or visit a ServiceNorfolk counter. For hours of service and locations, visit norfolkcounty.ca/contact.
