Fall and winter Recreation and Community Guide now available

The fall and winter Recreation and Community Guide is now available, featuring a wide range of programs and activities that encourage healthy lifestyles, skill-building, and community participation for all ages.

Recreation highlights include indoor pickleball and badminton, wellness and fitness classes, PA Day camps, youth sports programs, walking and multi-sport activities, seniors' clubs, and a variety of workshops. A range of aquatic programs, lessons, and advanced leadership courses are also available.

Registration for fall programs and swimming opens Tuesday, September 16, at noon. Residents may register using the following methods:

  • Online: Visit ENCORE at norfolkcounty.ca/ENCORE, log in or create an account, browse programs, and select “Register Now.”
  • By phone: Call Recreation Customer Service at 519-426-5870 or 226-NORFOLK, extension 2233.
  • In person: Visit the Simcoe Recreation Centre at 182 South Drive, Simcoe.

Early registration is encouraged, as program spaces may fill quickly.

In addition to recreation activities, the guide includes informative content to support civic awareness. Residents will find a breakdown of federal, provincial, and municipal government roles, tips for building a 72-hour emergency kit, and answers to frequently asked questions about upcoming waste management changes in 2026.

Printed copies of the guide are being distributed to elementary school families across Norfolk County. Copies are also available for pickup at Norfolk County Public Library branches, the Simcoe Recreation Centre, and ServiceNorfolk locations, and can be viewed online at norfolkcounty.ca/Rec
