Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre Service Disruption - Update on December 31

Update: December 31 at 2:00 p.m.

The Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre remains closed after a flood in the filtration room on Monday, December 29, caused significant damage to the pool’s water system and boilers. 

Staff are actively working to repair or replace damaged equipment. The pool is expected to reopen on Saturday, January 17. 

Customers registered in aquatic programs, including swimming lessons, will be notified directly of any schedule adjustments or changes to program durations. Customers with pool rentals during the closure period will also be contacted to arrange rescheduling or alternative options. 

All other programs and activities at the Simcoe Recreation Centre continue as scheduled.  

Norfolk County thanks residents for their patience as work continues to restore services at this community facility. 


Update: December 30 at 5:00 p.m.

The Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre remains closed due to unexpected mechanical issues. All scheduled activities are cancelled. Watch for updates on when we’ll reopen. Thanks for your ongoing understanding.

The Simcoe Recreation Centre is open, and all scheduled activities are running. 


Update: December 29 at 11:00 p.m.

The Simcoe Recreation Centre will reopen on Tuesday, December 30, at 7:30 a.m.

Please note that the Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre will remain closed all day (December 30) due to an unexpected maintenance issue.

Original notice from December 29 at 3:00 p.m.

The Simcoe Recreation Center and Annaleise Carr Aquatic Center will close today, December 29, at 4:00 p.m. All programs and rentals scheduled for this evening are cancelled.

Cancelled programs include:

  • Indoor Walking
  • Open Swim
  • Family Swim

The facility is expected to reopen and all programming to resume tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
