Emergency Information Vial

When you need emergency assistance, having your medical history and medicine information in one place may save your life!

What is it?

The Vial of Life program is being reintroduced to Haldimand and Norfolk in conjunction with first responders and community partners. The program allows individuals to have their most up-to-date pertinent medical information in their home for paramedics to reference during an emergency. Paramedics can then assess and apply the most appropriate care and drug treatment as quickly as possible, increasing the patient’s chances of a more positive outcome In an emergency, time is of the essence.

Norfolk County Community Policing Committee

The Norfolk County Community Policing Committee (NCCPC) is a volunteer Committee established by the Norfolk County Police Services Board (NCPSB) and approved by Norfolk County Council.

The Committee is funded by Norfolk County and works in cooperation with Norfolk County, the Norfolk County Police Services Board, and the Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police. The committee is composed of volunteers and an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police acting as a Community Liaison Officer.

Police Services Board

Purpose and Function

The primary function of Police Services Board (PSB) is to determine priorities and objectives for police services within the community. This must be done in consultation with the Detachment Commander, but input should be received from council, municipal staff, and police officers assigned to the community, as well as the public.

Norfolk County is governed by Section 10 of the Police Services Act. The relationship between the board and the municipal council is important.

Emergency and Policing Services

The Norfolk County Emergency Services Division is setup to provide prompt and professional services in the event of medical emergencies, fires, disasters, accidents or any other event that can threaten the public’s safety and welfare.
