Simcoe BIA Election – June 17 to June 24
Simcoe ON – June 14, 2019 – The election for the Simcoe Business Improvement Area (BIA) Board of Directors will commence next week. Following the nomination period of June 2 to June 7, nominations are now closed for Board positions on the Simcoe BIA. The Norfolk County Council Services Department received and confirmed 15 nominations as candidates for the 8 Board positions.
All nominations were made by individuals whom own or rent a non-residential property in the BIA area.
Candidates were asked to submit a short biography for the BIA electorate. This information is attached and available on the Norfolk County Website under Public Notices.
Votes will be taken by general balloting at 50 Colborne Street South, Council Services office, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily starting at 8:30 a.m. on June 17th until noon on Monday, June 24th. The following criteria apply for voting:
- Only one vote per business in the BIA area;
- Votes may be cast for up to eight (8) members to serve on the BIA;
- Proof of tenancy in the BIA will be required at time of voting, (tax bill, invoices, utility bill, etc.)
Results will be publicly announced and voted upon by Norfolk County Council on June 25, 2019.
