Norfolk County’s 2021 proposed water and wastewater budget is now available for public review.
The budget presented to Council for review and adoption proposes a water and wastewater rate increase in the amount of $1,493,000 or 7.1%, which means an average residential bill will increase by $7.03 per month.
This increase is the result of a recommended rate relief strategy, part of a financial sustainability plan which will address operating costs and significant capital improvements required over the next ten years while taking into consideration ratepayers’ affordability.
In doing so, this strategy reduced the net rate requirement from just under 22% to just over 7%.
Council will deliberate the budget on November 24.
