Norfolk County is asking drivers to help small businesses offering curbside pickup by leaving parking spaces directly in front of these businesses available for customers.
Curbside pickup service is a creative way some local businesses can continue their operations while following social distancing and other measures in place to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Typically, customers order goods online, then park in front of the business at a scheduled time or use their cell phone to call staff once they’ve arrived. Staff then bring the purchased goods directly to the customer’s vehicle.
By leaving parking spaces available, residents and visitors will be helping Norfolk’s small businesses weather the effects of COVID-19 on the local economy.
Where possible, drivers are encouraged to instead use nearby municipal lots, all of which can be found here.
Venture Norfolk maintains a list of Norfolk County businesses which have adapted their services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The list can be found here.
